Three-dimensional structure of a Nanobody® (modeled on the VHH with pdb-code 1U0Q, Cambillau et al). The target molecule is recognized by the surface formed by three hypervariable regions located at the top of the molecule (in green, cyan and blue). Hallmarks, amino acid residues that further differentiate a camelid VHH from a human VH, can be located at different positions within the framework regions, and here are coloured red, pink and magenta.

In-licensing

With the broad applicability and versatility of Ablynx’s unique Nanobody® platform, Ablynx is seeking to maximise its value through addressing, for conventional antibodies, less conventional targets, explore innovative routes of administration as well as alternative ways of tailormaking the half-life of a Nanobody® candidate.

  • Ablynx is actively seeking to license rights to disease targets which can demonstrate a strong disease association possibly through validation in the clinic. Targets of interest including membrane bound targets such as GPCRs and ion channels as well as enzyme based targets traditionally addressed by small molecule inhibition.
  • Ablynx continues to have an interest to explore collaboration with companies who can offer proprietary half-life modulation technologies.
  • Ablynx is keen to engage with companies who possess proprietary and ideally validated delivery and formulation technologies which allow Nanobodies® to be administered through alternative routes including inhalation, slow release devices.
